Mother & Daughter day

We had collected our car from Giles on Thursday and parked it conveniently in the Beale Park car park...I had arranged with them that it was OK to leave it overnight for a few nights.    So this morning Geoff drove me to Pangbourne to catch the train to London.  En route we passed the Reading festival site where the clear up was still going on...........looks like it will take several weeks...........
Emma and I then proceeded to have a real girlie day....Pedicure, manicure, hair cut, sitting out on her tiny terrace in wonderful sunshine drinking cider, followed by supper in one of her local pubs.......Oh nearly forgot the bath......when us boaties visit houses we just have to avail ourselves of facilities we don't have!!
Meanwhile back at the ranch.............Geoff had completed all his tasks for the day, loo cassette emptying at Giles (facility at Mapledurham out of action due to vandalism), dog walking etc and had just settled down for a well earned siesta when they came a knock on the roof.......
Our cosy little mooring was required for the weekend as they are having a steam boat meet of some sort.  Someone was going around putting up reserved mooring signs......so Geoff had to move...not a happy bear......luckily he has found a space albeit not as nice and not as easy to get on and off.  he had to resort to the gang plank initially and Barney was not impressed.....however the satellite TV still works so all is not lost...........and maybe the rally or whatever it is will be interesting......
